My Dad
We heard back from UCSF, and it seems the swelling and marks on the MRI are actually a reaction to the Gamma Knife Surgery that’s expected about 6 months out, not the cancer growing again. They have him on Steroids and it seems to be helping, but last night he was taken to the emergency room because he was shaking and couldn’t get warm, we found out he has a hernia, but they’ll probably leave that alone for now, and he has a bladder infection, he should be home from the hospital this evening.
My Dad's Cancer
The Tumor Board at the local hospital has met and basicly said there’s nothing they can do for my dad at this point, but the UCSF Tumor Board hasn’t gotten back to us yet about it. Friday morning the Oncoligist (not that I can spell it) want’s the family to come in to talk to us about it. My mom got pamphlets about “Hospice” care today and I need to read them, I know generally what Hospice care is, but i’d like to know more before we decide anything.

My Dad
My dad survived lung cancer about 5 years ago, survived a heart attack and open heart surgery in the last year, and the cancer came back, spread to his brain, he had “Gamma Knife Surgery” at UCSF and we thought it had taken care of the tumors, but today we found out that they are back and growing again. The doctors haven’t decided what to do yet, so hopefully we will hear something soon. Any good thought/prayers will be appreciated.
I’ll try to keep this thing updated if I find out any more.
